Website Overhaul

If you’re a frequent visitor to the OES website you will notice some changes. We have tried to streamline things and have it be more user friendly especially for first time visitors.

The first thing people will notice is the homepage or landing page. Any page that has our logo will link you back to this homepage. Several people have asked for this option and we agreed with them. Our homepage under our logo you will find 3 linked divisions of the website.

Pro Shop: Just as the name implies this link will take you to all of the Pro Shop store pages Which include boot store, blade store, maintenance store, training essentials, plus other links for Pro Shop Patrons

The Rink: This is the home for all rink related items. Information on Learn to Skate, private lessons, about our rink, staff, rink schedule and more.

Skate Green the Synthetic Difference: Under this heading you will find all the information on synthetic ice, Skate Green, current projects, EZ Glide 350, special events and rentals, and more.

At the bottom of the page you will find 4 of our more frequently used links which include rink schedule, our blog link and 2 others.

It is our hope that we have made the site more navigable for visitors. We still have some of the heading tabs on our navigation bar on the right. The pages that have not fit into these 3 categories have remained in this bar. We have had several people comment to us on how many page tabs were on the right with the old design and how first time visitors & visitors new to skating felt very overwhelmed by how much information was on that navigation bar.

Fundraising

As many of you know we have been trying to do some fundraising to grow the size of our rink from 15’x15’ to 21’x30’. We have decided to try a Crowd Funding site called Indie Gogo. We are asking that people help us spread the word about our goal to people you may know online and off. Facebook it, Twitter it, text it and call others about it. We are trying to raise money to expand so more groups like youth/adult hockey and figure skaters can use our facility but we need your help. The link to our page is below help us bring Skate Green even further to Colorado!

It's Monday

It’s Monday..... We had a great weekend here at OES. I want to take a moment and thank everyone that came out on Saturday for our Great to Skate Day. It was great to see all the new skaters out skating green! I also want to thank everyone who so graciously donated to our “grow the rink fund”. Our main objective right now is to grow the size of our rink and every little bit helps. The two ways we are able to grow the rink is through the Marketing Partners Program and by independent contributions from people within our community. We have also made some changes to our website and can now take donations from within the “advertise with us” page. Our goal is to have a surface size of 21’ x 30’ by the end of the first quarter which will more then double the size of the rink. We can’t do it without your help.

We have also started the Green Skate initiative. It is a program where advanced and competitive skaters can recycle their old boots and blades that will benefit skaters just starting out with skating in the Learn to Skate program. Skaters, coaches, and clubs can now donate old skates to skaters that need them most.

For more information on any of these programs
