After several weeks of having our sharpener down we are happy to report it is back and better then ever. We now have the capacity to sharpen not only traditional figure skate blades but also blades containing carbon steel. We are also able to now sharpen most types of hockey skates which before we could not offer. We are thrilled to offer this service to both hockey and figure skaters.

Our normal rates for sharpening’s are $12 for figure skates and $8 for hockey. If you live in Western Colorado and have the Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce “Blue Band” Buy Local bracelets you save even more. Skaters wearing these bands (which are available at our rink) get sharpening’s for a flat rate of $5.

Every pair of skates that come in for sharpening are inspected for stripped/missing screws, edge levelness and more. After your skates are sharpened you will receive a skate health card which tells you if we found any issues with your skates such as stripped screws, so you know ahead of time. Other sections on the health card include if the skates need to be waterproofed and how much blade life is left on your blades. No one likes being told all of the sudden they need new blades. This health card give you warning well in advance so you can get new blades when the time comes.
