Skate Contract is Full of Surprises
If you haven’t had a chance to follow @SkateContract on Twitter or “Like” them on Facebook you’re really missing out. These guys are always full of surprises and they never disappoint. If you follow them on those two networks then you always get a heads up on new news.
Yesterday they mixed it up again. Just when you think they can’t make it any better they do it again and again in new ways. News from Skate Contract broke yesterday that they have gone to a new free service model. So now skaters can join free no matter if you’re a pro skater or amateur. I don’t know if this is a trial run or something that’s going to be permanent but if you haven’t joined yet I would do so now for sure. There is no good reason why skaters shouldn’t be flocking over to “Skatings Social Network”. Their website can be found on our links page or here
Skate Contract
It seems as in this day and age a lot of businesses are reinventing themselves. Businesses that are local, regional, and national find themselves reinventing themselves. Some do it to stay ahead of the "curve" while others do it to boost sales and customer bases. Then there is the third reason...... to fill a much needed need. To do something that hasn't been done before. We our selves have done the same thing over the last year. We originally come out of the gate as a sport specific retailer specifically for figure skaters. While yet that is still a large part of our business model we have also branched out into the synthetic ice rink market opening our own rink with the environment in mind with #SkateGreen.
Our friends and partners over at SkateContract (www.skatecontract.com) have done the same. They have reinvented themselves not to stay in front of the curve, to increase sales or customer base but they have reinvented themselves for the same reason we did. To fit a need that wasn't being met. To think outside the box
While professional skating is still one of their foundation cornerstones they have also seen the need for amateur skaters as well. They have sought to bring both families of skating together in one place and be "Figure Skating's Social Network". A place where both the amateur and professional ranks coexist together as one.

They really have thought of everything. If you're a coach or skating director you can even put up notices to fill vacancies as well as post casting notices. Both sides of the skating family can feel at home with the new and improved SkateContract. I hope everyone gets a chance to check it out. Sign up and say hi to us!
